Much like the Old Fashioned, the Manhattan is one of the oldest and (and in our opinion, one of the finest) cocktails. The Manhattan is the first cocktail documented to use vermouth as a modifier. And just like the Old Fashioned, there are many variations of the Manhattan, but we’re partial to this variant – with an ice ball of course. The Manhattan is a very boozy cocktail, so the addition of the ice ball mellows the "heat" of the alcohol a bit, without watering it down, and the traces of water that the ice ball slowly releases actually open the flavors allowing the more subtle nuances to come forward.
The term ‘perfect’ in this version refers to an equal amount of sweet and dry vermouth used in the recipe.

- Ice Ball from your Whiskey Ice Co. Spherical Ice Ball Maker
- 2 ounces bourbon - we like Basil Hayden's for this one
- ½ ounce sweet vermouth
- ½ ounce dry vermouth
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Luxardo maraschino cherry for garnish
Putting it together:
Step 1: In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine whiskey, vermouth and bitters.
Step 2: Stir well to chill (20 stirs to the left and 20 stirs to the right).
Step 3: Place ice ball in your glass and strain cocktail over top.
Garnish with a Luxardo cherry and enjoy responsibly. Cheers
