Bourbon Spritz Cocktail

The Bourbon Spritz Cocktail offers a bit more flavor than your standard bourbon on the rocks and using an ice ball allows those flavors to mingle and become more complex as you enjoy it.

Using a standard ice ball, this cocktail is a quick way to dress up a glass of bourbon for those that may not be drawn to the strong flavors of straight bourbon, or maybe you just want to mix it up a little (no pun intended). While we chose to make it using orange bitters, you can have fun experimenting with other options, like grapefruit, cherry, or something more exotic like coffee bitters or even cranberry bitters.  Go crazy you rascal.

Double Old Fashioned glass, mixing glass, julep strainer, bar spoon1 oz./½ oz. jiggerThe Whiskey Ice Co. Spherical Ice Ball Maker

  • 2 ounces bourbon - We like Jefferson's for this drink
  • ½ ounce orange liqueur like Cointreau
  • ½ ounce simple syrup
  • 1 or 2 dashes of orange bitters
  • Splash of club soda
  • 1 ice ball from your Spherical Ice Ball Maker

  • Orange slice

Step 1: In a mixing glass, add bourbon, orange liqueur, simple syrup and bitters over a few ice cubes.
Step 3: Stir to combine.
Step 2: Place an ice ball in your double old-fashioned glass and strain mixture over the ice ball, then top with a splash of club soda (add more soda if you like a milder drink).
Step 4: Garnish with orange slice.

Enjoy...but do it responsibly, please.  Cheers.
