Gin Martini with “Dirty” Ice Ball

We are sometimes asked whether ice balls are good with other drinks, besides whiskey or whiskey drinks, the answer is YES!  We use the Whiskey Ice Co. spherical ice ball maker for many different drinks, in fact, one of our favorites is a Gin Martini with a "Dirty" ice ball.

While vodka has gained popularity for martinis, many feel that gin is the best way to enjoy a martini. This spin on the classic turns up the presentation level, while enhancing the enjoyment by keeping it cool without watering it down.

Mixing glass, bar spoon, strainer, martini glass, 1½ oz./½ oz. jigger, Whiskey Ice Co. spherical ice ball maker

2 ½ ounces gin
½ ounce dry vermouth
1 "dirty" ice ball
olives for garnish

To Make "Dirty" Ice Ball:
Place two tablespoons of olive juice into your Whiskey Ice Co. ice mold. Top with cold water to fill to the top of the logo. Freeze until solid and form an ice ball using your Whiskey Ice Co. spherical ice ball maker.

Chill martini glass by filling with ice. In a mixing glass with ice, add gin and vermouth, and stir until chilled. Discard ice from martini glass and add the dirty ice ball. Strain the gin mixture into the glass. Garnish with olives and always enjoy responsibly.
