The floral notes of elderflower liqueur pair remarkably well with the woody aspects of a great bourbon. While quite different from a classic old fashioned cocktail, this lighter, brighter version is quite the palate pleaser and sure to draw compliments on taste and presentation.
Mixing glass, bar spoon, strainer, rocks glass, 1 ½ oz./½ oz. jigger, Whiskey Ice Co spherical ice ball maker
2 ounces bourbon
½ ounce Elderflower liqueur
2 dashes orange bitters
1 ice ball
Strip of orange peel
Pour bourbon, elderflower liqueur and bitters into a mixing glass with a few ice cubes and stir. Place your ice ball into your rocks glass and strain whiskey mixture over top. Squeeze orange peel over cocktail to release oils into the glass.
Garnish with orange peel and enjoy responsibly.
